I was born born in Baltimore, and have worked in most styles and materials through the years. Most of my artwork tends toward the non-representational, although I attribute some of my images to specific moments or events, such as a piece of music or a passing glance at something briefly seen.
My focus in art-making lies in discovering what comes about in the process of creating. As a student at Towson, MICA and Brooklyn Museum Art School, as a Visual Arts high school teacher for over 20 years, as a Life Drawing Sessions monitor for many years at Creative Alliance, and as a long-time member of Baltimore’s Artists’ Housing, Inc. co-op, my first-hand experience comes from many perspectives of the creative process.
